Date/Time: Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 12:00pm – 1:00pm PST
Presenters: Marysia Perry, Special Projects Coordinator, Youth Employment Services
In this webinar, Marysia will provide a basic overview of mental health, discuss the benefits of employment for those living with mental health issues, review some best practices and tips on how to best support clients living with mental health issues as employment counselors and explore the new employment resource: Empowering the Employment Sector to Better Serve Youth with Mental Health Issues.
The resource is a suite of workshops designed in partnership between YES, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and the Counselling Foundation to, as the title suggests, support employment agencies/counselors in better supporting youth living with mental health issues to seek and gain successful employment.
Marysia Parry is the Special Projects Coordinator for Youth Employment Services (YES) and led the development of YES’ newest employment support resource: Empowering the Employment Sector to Better Serve Youth with Mental Health Issues. Marysia has a background in curriculum development and program coordination, and now develops and implements a number of YES projects which focus on the areas of mentorship, entrepreneurship, and mental health based initiatives.
