Date/Time: Monday, June 10, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm PT
Presenters: Dr. Roberta Neault and Deirdre Pickerell of Life Strategies Ltd.
In this webinar, Dr. Roberta Neault and Deirdre Pickerell will be presenting the results from their recent study on the current skill requirements of BC career development practitioners (CDPs). The study, commissioned by the BC Centre for Employment Excellence (CfEE) and involving practitioners, supervisors and government officials from across the province, assesses the current state of the career development profession in BC and identifies opportunities for supporting CDPs in their role of serving the needs of BC job seekers.
While the objective of this research is to inform the CfEE as it undertakes its mission “to enhance knowledge and practice among its key stakeholders with the aim of improving employment outcomes of all job seekers in BC,” it will also provide important insights into the issues the profession is facing for practitioners, supervisors and policy makers alike.
After the presentation, the CfEE will provide an update on the steps it is taking to respond to the professional development needs of BC’s career development practitioners.
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session with the authors and CfEE representatives.
