The BC Employment Program Hub on the BC Centre for Employment Excellence’s website was developed as an online one-stop tool to help career development practitioners from across the province easily search for employment programs in their respective communities that aligned with their clients’ needs and eligibility for service.
The Hub was developed based on programming information outlined in the 2012 Environmental Scan of Employment Programs in BC report and designed for continuous updating by service providers as programs changed, wound down or started up.
The transition from the Canada-BC Labour Market Agreement to the Canada-BC Job Fund Agreement as well as other program renewals have resulted in significant changes to employment programming across the province. To reflect these changes and ensure the Hub is useful for practitioners, the Hub will be updated with the programming, service provider and eligibility changes to employment services across the province.
John Coward Consulting (JCC) has been contracted to update the Hub after a review of the complete range of publicly funded employment programs available to unemployed and underemployed individuals. The Hub review will include funding sources, locations, target populations, program descriptions and client eligibility. Representatives from JCC will be contacting service providers in the upcoming weeks to request updates regarding the programs currently listed in the Hub, as well as confirm details of the new Canada-BC Job Fund Stream 3 programs being implemented. With your help, JCC will also identify ways to improve navigation on the Hub to make it a more effective tool for career practitioners.
