The YWCA Metro Vancouver created the Mentorship Best Practices Toolkit based on the experiences and knowledge gained from operating the NextStep Mentorship Program (NextStep).
The toolkit covers aspects of creating, sustaining and enhancing mentoring relationships and programs. It is intended for agencies, organizations and program staff who are planning to develop a new mentorship program or review an existing mentorship program. Access the toolkit here.
NextStep was a three-year research and innovation project that aimed to understand how mentorship can help unemployed recent graduates secure employment through research and tools for action. The YWCA commissioned the BC Centre for Employment Excellence to conduct the evaluation. View the final report here.
NextStep was funded by the British Columbia Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction’s (MSDPR) Community and Employer Partnership Research and Innovation Fund.
