Have your say: Working with Individuals with Mental Health Issues: An Employment Perspective – Part II

On April 23rd, Mariella Bozzer and Dr. Sarah-Jane Meachen of Gastown Vocational Services returned to present Part II of our three-part series on Working with Individuals with Mental Health Issues: An Employment Perspective.

Many thanks again to Mariella and Sarah-Jane for their second presentation in our series on mental health, and a very special thank you to Donna for sharing her story.

Part II focused on applying principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery to successfully engage clients in the supportive employment process. Mariella and Sarah-Jane reviewed skills and tools for assessing readiness, as well as strength-based approaches to client goal-setting. Specific recovery tools and strategies for wellness in the workplace were introduced. The speakers discuss the value of engaging the client’s support network in facilitating work integration. Finally, Donna shared her lived experience and presented the WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) program for work.

We welcome you to access the presentation slides, watch the full webinar recording below, contribute any questions or comments you have about the material and sign up for Part III of the series, scheduled for May 14th at 12pm PDT.
